Blizzard Entertainment is preparing to launch World of Warcraft: Forever globally on November 4, 2026, introducing a new experience built around the foundations of the original MMORPG. The upcoming release combines the familiar world and progression style of classic World of Warcraft with new regions, additional quests, expanded character options, and fresh multiplayer content.
Designed for both returning veterans and newcomers, WoW: Forever offers a separate experience alongside modern World of Warcraft and WoW Classic. Rather than following the traditional expansion model, the game focuses on expanding the original Azeroth while maintaining a level cap of 60.
Global Launch Times and Availability
World of Warcraft: Forever will launch simultaneously across different regions at 3:00 PM Pacific Time on November 4.
Due to regional time differences, some players will gain access on November 5. The announced launch schedule includes:
- Americas: November 4 at 3:00 PM PST
- United Kingdom: November 4 at 11:00 PM GMT
- Europe: November 5 at 12:00 AM CET
- Taiwan: November 5 at 7:00 AM CST
- South Korea: November 5 at 8:00 AM KST
- Australia: November 5 at 10:00 AM AEDT
The game is designed as a permanent addition to the World of Warcraft ecosystem, giving players another way to experience Azeroth without replacing existing versions.
New Regions Expand the Original World
One of the biggest attractions of WoW: Forever is its expanded world. Blizzard has introduced new and reimagined areas across Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, alongside more than 1,000 additional quests covering the level 1–60 journey.
Four major destinations are highlighted:
- Mount Hyjal: Explore the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat and discover the future of the recovering region.
- Shen'dralas: Investigate mysteries connected to the Shen'dralar and the ancient territory surrounding Eldre'Thalas.
- Riverglades: Discover a frontier filled with rivers, grasslands, trade routes, and more than 150 new quests.
- Zephras Isle: Experience a new starting zone designed specifically for the Skyborne race.
These additions provide more opportunities for exploration while expanding the stories surrounding familiar locations in Warcraft's history.
Skyborne Becomes a New Playable Race
The introduction of Skyborne is another major feature of the upcoming release. Also known as the shen'dorei, this new playable race offers two different faction paths.
Horde players can choose Windshapers, who can become Shamans, while Alliance players can select High-Order Skyborne characters who can become Mages.

Blizzard is also introducing additional race and class combinations, including Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests, and Dwarf Shamans.
These changes provide greater character customization and encourage players to experiment with different class combinations.
Nine New Dungeons and Three Raids
Group content will play an important role in the new experience. WoW: Forever introduces nine new five-player dungeons, covering character levels 13 through 60.
For endgame players, three raids are scheduled to open on December 9:
- Barrow Deeps
- Hyjal Summit
- Onyxia's Lair
The delayed raid opening gives players time to level their characters, improve their equipment, and prepare for challenging encounters before entering the endgame.
PvP players will also have access to the Darkspear Islands, a new 15-versus-15 battleground featuring two opposing factions competing for strategic objectives.
A Slower and More Deliberate Progression System
Another important difference is the Legacy System, an account-wide progression feature that rewards exploration and participation across multiple characters. It includes Legacy Challenges, Legacy Perks, and Legacy Rewards, allowing players to develop long-term account benefits without relying exclusively on traditional character power increases.
Blizzard has also indicated that major updates are expected approximately every four months, with additional activities and content introduced gradually between major releases.
This approach is intended to create a more relaxed progression experience without requiring players to constantly rush toward the next update.
What to Expect From World of Warcraft: Forever
With its November 4 launch approaching, World of Warcraft: Forever represents a significant expansion of Blizzard's classic-inspired MMO experience. New regions, additional character combinations, expanded dungeons, and account-wide progression provide a substantial amount of content for players to explore.
By combining familiar Warcraft foundations with new adventures and a slower development direction, Blizzard aims to offer a lasting home for players who enjoy exploration, character progression, and cooperative gameplay in Azeroth.
