EA SPORTS has officially revealed a major new content update for EA Sports FC 26 and EA Sports FC Mobile, bringing a large international football experience just days before this summer’s global tournament begins. Officially titled The World’s Game Update, the expansion launches on May 28, while its new tournament mode becomes available starting June 4.

The top two teams from every group qualify automatically, while selected third-place teams also advance, creating a competitive Round of 32 structure before the finals.

EA confirmed that 53 licensed national teams will be playable in FC 26, with 41 of them participating in the real-life tournament.

Major football nations including Brazil, France, England, Argentina, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, and Spain will appear with authentic squads and official kits. At the same time, less commonly featured countries such as Cabo Verde, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Haiti will also be available, giving players more variety than previous international football experiences.

However, not every nation will launch with complete licensing. Egypt and Japan will feature authentic players but partial licensing, while Algeria, Curaçao, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan will initially appear as generic teams. Additionally, Bosnia & Herzegovina and DR Congo are expected to receive authentic kits in a later update.

According to EA SPORTS, national team availability depends on licensing agreements and international regulations, including restrictions related to U.S. sanctions.

Festival of Football Brings New Ultimate Team Content
Alongside the tournament mode, EA SPORTS is introducing a major Festival of Football campaign for Ultimate Team.

Players who log into FC 26 between June 5 and July 24 will receive a free 93 OVR Festival of Football ICON Pelé, along with three Choose Your Journey Evolutions to upgrade selected players.

The event also introduces a dedicated Event Hub, themed football campaigns, and more than 100 new international players joining Ultimate Team.
